United for Music
In 2018, the UK’s two music licensing societies - PPL & PRS for Music - joined forces to make it easier for bars, restaurants, clubs, shops & other businesses to obtain a licence to play music. The resulting joint venture, PPL PRS, opens its doors in Leicester this year.
We created an installation “United for Music” telling the story of the parent companies from 1914 onwards through over 200 musical references & song lyrics.
The work culminates with the launch of the Leicester joint venture - featuring a Leicester City Football Club anthem - When You’re Smiling the Whole World Smiles with You! complete with mascot Filbert Fox, the Cathedral, Clocktower, & Richard III famous carpark grave.
100+ years of music - 90 square meters - 200 music references - printed on vinyl wallpaper.
